Our story.
Our legacy.
Menim — a word meaning mine; that which belongs to me.
Menim was founded to create functional and beautiful knives for a lifetime of use, and to be passed down in families for generations. Knives that hold meaning, reflect its owner and are a joy to be held.
Bladesmith Jo Murphy handcrafts each knife in her workshop in Albury; made with minimal timber and metal waste, and made to last.
Forged in tradition.

We custom-make each knife to suit you and the way you like to cook.
Jo Murphy — Bladesmith
After a career working with wood, metal, science and art, I combined these experiences and learned how to create knives. Knives to last and not be thrown away.
Drawing on established handcrafting techniques from master bladesmiths and meeting with local producers, I developed my own approach. I aim to use every piece of timber and metal with very little waste, and to reflect the personality and needs of each customer.
Food is part of everyone’s day. I’m honoured to know Menim knives are used in kitchens every day, and will continue to be used long into the future.
